New Testament Assembly Jamaica

Celebrating Our Legacy, Anticipating Our Future

Who We Are

Rooted in Scripture, service, and community since 1954.

The New Testament Assembly was founded in 1954 when a group of visionary ministers, including brothers Alva Edison Peart and Verley Clinton Peart, stepped out in faith to form a fellowship rooted in Scripture, service, and independence. From humble beginnings at Benefit Hall in Port Antonio, NTA has grown into a global family across Jamaica, England, Canada, Africa, the United States, and India.

Founding & Early Years

From Benefit Hall to a growing fellowship across Jamaica.

In April 1954, approximately thirty‑seven ministers departed the New Testament Church of God and organized as the New Testament Assembly under the leadership of Chairman Alva Edison Peart and Secretary Verley Clinton Peart. The first meetings were held at Benefit Hall on Mannings Avenue, Port Antonio. The early fellowship model — gathering for special meeting days — later evolved into our conventions as the work spread across Portland and beyond.
